Many of our readers have experienced the joys of living at Smith Mountain Lake, Va. but others have wondered about this lovely area we call home. Our son will be going to Virginia Tech. this year and my husband and I would like to eventually move to Va. Someone mentioned the (SML) area and I started looking at real estate online to get an idea of where we would like to end up. Smith Mountain Lake was one of the areas that looked great. Rita

What a beautiful morning! I’m sitting on the dock at our Smith Mountain Lake house enjoying the sun and water. The ducks are swimming and the fish are jumping. I live in Richmond and have clients that live on Smith Mountain Lake…I’m thinking about (a place at) the Lake for a couple of reasons. 1) I’ve got a slug of classic wooden boats that hate Salt Water, and 2) I might be relocating to Greensboro…This would be closer for me…Warren
I happened to be looking for lakefront property on the internet and found Smith Mountain Lake. I was trying to find a place that would be near a major city yet have a laid-back feeling. We all love to fish and swim so the lake may be just the place we would want to live. The Myers
After many months of browsing the internet in search of a waterfront home, I finally stumbled across one at SML that caught my eye. It was Saturday at 5:30 am so I emailed the broker, Paul Moore. Much to my surprise, I received a reply just moments later and I was soon on the phone with him discussing the home. The next day my wife and I were being chauffeured by boat looking at numerous homes that met our tastes. Thanks to Paul Moore we quickly found the perfect fit. Jeff
