This Christmas will be a blessed and wonderful time for many of us at Smith Mountain Lake. For others, it will be the hardest time of the year. So many are struggling with economic challenges and other types of sorrows that this winter will be a time of difficulty rather than celebration.
You can make a difference by helping your neighbors during this holiday season. If those of us who have been given an abundance will pitch in and assist those in need, then it will be a grand time for all.
Through Christmas Eve, the Smith Mountain Lake Visitor Center will gladly accept your non-perishable food donations for distribution through Lake Christian Ministries’ Food Pantry. (All foodstuffs should be canned or boxed.)
Additionally, toiletries and paper supplies would be greatly appreciated. (Visitor Center hours are Monday through Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Center will be open Christmas Eve, but will be closed on Christmas Day.)
