If you live on or near Smith Mountain Lake, there is an association that would benefit you as a member. The Smith Mountain Lake Association is a non-profit organization that will represent its members on issues that affect Smith Mountain Lake, surrounding counties, and its watershed. It was created to advocate members’ interests throughout the Commonwealth using information and education as a way to influence constructive outcomes.
We ask that you join and work with us to enhance your environment, quality of life, and community. As volunteers, we are interested in improving life at the Lake and in the surrounding Counties by working to enhance water quality, balance water quantity, improve water safety, encourage responsible development, and work with our local and state governments to benefit all residents. We work hard to keep our membership and the public informed of events and important issues.
Our non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization is the largest volunteer association in the area with over 1400 family memberships. Because we are a non-profit, your membership dues are tax deductible. So please forward your tax-deductible check for family membership (one year of $30.00) to:
