When you find a niche in life worth talking about, the news seems to spread everywhere. A friend of mine came across a great article about our very own Smith Mountain Lake in the New York Times!
The article talks of folks from various walks of life who have come to Smith Mountain Lake from all over the country and are quite taken with their homes here.
“Smith Mountain Lake has that odd combination of nothing and everything to do. People tend to just use the lake in whatever way possible. They fish or boat or water-ski. They hike. They sit out and look at the scenery. It’s not a fast life here, just a good one,” says the New York Times.
The article is a good read and it makes you pause and think; the choices we make in our small corners of the world may have a ripple effect that we could never imagine.
