Late winter is a slower time of year as far as gala events at Smith Mountain Lake. Most of us are trying to stay warm rather than out-planning fun activities. But the folks at the Smith Mountain Striper Club have decided to spice things up a bit and invite some entertainment to town. Stu Tinney, named one of the 100 Living Legends of American Sports Fishing, Published Author, Fishing Guide Extraordinaire, and excellent storyteller will be the featured speaker for this Striper Club Event.
I’m told if you are a fisherman or woman this speaker will be especially marvelous, but with plenty to keep you smiling and interested even if you are not. The event will take place at the Moneta Community Center on Feb. 1st at 7 p.m.. It is free to all, however, they do ask that you call to register ahead of time if you are not a member of the Striper Club, due to a seating limit of 160 persons. For registration or more information, you can call Angie at 540-793-2420 or Dennis at 540-420-4517.
Mr. Tinney is the #1 Authority on striped bass fishing, has been in many Bill Dance Films, featured in Field and Stream, and Outdoor Life, and has received many other accolades as well. Come out and hear him with all the friendly folks at the Smith Mountain Lake Striper Club. You can also visit Stu’s website at http://www.smithmountainstriperclub.com/.
