I don’t know about your family, but mine loves to take the tent and camp at Smith Mountain Lake, (and all over the Eastern United States for that matter). But we love that there are some great campgrounds right here at home.

Blue Ridge Campground and Marina

Peaks of Otter Campground
132 sites for tents or self-contained RVs. There are no electrical, water, or sewer hookups to individual sites, although dump stations are available. Hiking trails, nearby fishing, and seasonal ranger talks are available.
